Traveling in the USA using EAD as ID

Could anyone answer this question , is EAD acceptable as ID when traveling in the USA Domestictly ?

I have applied for DL or ID at the moment and just rec my EAD and need to go to IL quickly so if you can use EAD please confirm.

The DL may have to wait for the test, but shouldn't they give you the ID the same day?

It should be enough. It has your picture, name and signature. Usually the DL is the most common photo ID. The only problem I can seee is if you need and ID with your address on it.

State issued ID would be the way to go. Looks exactly like the DL in most instances.
