Hi, I am currently working at Intel, CA and currently on my F-1 OPT. My EAD expires on Jan 31, 2016 and the expiry date mentioned on my recent I-20 for F-1 OPT is Jan 15, 2016. According to my searches, I cannot leave US to go back to my home country during 17 months' OPT extension. I was planning to travel from Nov 25 to Dec 13, 2015 which is more than a month before the expiration of my EAD and F-1 OPT I-20. Note that the date mentioned on US visa on my passport is Dec 2017- I don't know if that will help me or not.
Also please note that I have to apply for my EAD extension- Intel's law firm informed me that they can file for my extension in Oct 2015. I don't know if there is any problem if I travel after the application before it is approved.
Please let me know if it the idea of my travel is risky and if I would face any trouble in the immigrationwhen I try to come back to US. Also inform me if I need any signature on my I-20 or what documents I should collect from my workplace to prove my status.
