Traveling after application but before interview (N400)

I filed a N400 application in August 2004 (Atlanta DO).
I am after FP.

In the current rate my interview will be no early than August 2005.

Do I need to maintian the my physical presence until my interview/oath? (For a married person this means 18 months out of the recent 36).

The USCIS website requires the physical presence only prior to filing the application. I am wondering whether it must be maintained all the way to the interview itself too.

If anybody has an opinion/knows of a relvent example - please share

Thanks, Yalag

Physical Residence Vs. Continuence Residence

Dear JoeF, thanks for the prompt answer.

True. Therefore I must clearly maintain my "Continuence Residence" (i.e. not leave for more than 1 year, and for more than six month demonstrate my relationship with the US). However, my question was regard to the "Physical Residence", which has nothing to do with being a PR but rather is a pre-reqisite for the N400 application

Thanks for the advice. It goes without saying... :)

after the N-600K appointment: what happens next

Does anyone have experience of what happens after the interview for the N-600K application? I am applying for US citizenship for my teenage daughter. We live in Europe, so we must travel to the US for the interview, then return home. I filed the papers in January and am waiting for an appointment. But what happens after the appointment? Does the interviewer give us an approval at the time of the meeting? Does my daughter then have to go to some naturalization ceremony? Can she go apply for a US passport immediately after the meeting?

Why don't they write this information on their website? It is so frustrating. She has to miss school to go this, so we want to go there and return home as fast as possible.
