My friend received her greencard on Apr/1997. Her work requires frequent travel to other countries and She may also be asked to work in UK.

Currently she is planning to apply for citizenship, but she would like to know, if she works in UK during the citizenship process, would it affect her citizenship process?

If she travels/works abroad, is there any time restriction?

I would really appreciate your reply.

You are required to state evey overseas stay that's
longer than 24 hours. Just state them as accuarte as you can.

That is why we should ask USA/Canada border
police to place stamp on our passports when we cross.

They are also good souvirnirs. One day you may
claim a Guiness record - a passport with most
stamps

Thanks for your reply, my question is, after applying for citizenship, If I need to travel/work outside US, would it affect my citizenship process.

Thanks

Sorry. That reply of mine was intended for another thread
but by mistake was posted in this thread I hate this new
system.

You need to be on GC for 5 years to be eligible for
citizenship. Half of 5 years should be physically
spent on USA soil. There should be no major interruption

If the longest stay overseas is bigger than 12 month,
then you have to start to accure 5 years from scratch.

If the longest stay is between 6 month and 12 month,
then you have to convince the INS not to wipe out
the accrued time.
