Travel with travel document

Hi,

I am a political refugee. My case is approved. I also received travel document. It is valid for 1 year. but waiting for my green card. Some people say that travelling with travel document is not safe wait until you get your green card.
Has anybody had any trouble traveling with travel document? or if you know anybody who had any trouble?
How long I can stay outside the USA?

I am not sure who told you that traveling with Travel Doc is unsafe. IN my opinion its no sifferent than having a Visa to US. How long are you planning on leaving US? Keep in mind that you have to have continuous residency for the 1st year before applying for GC.
 
Yes feel free to travel with Refugee travel document. Man, you are safe.
BUT do not stay longer outside US because ur GC is still pending and USCIS might need you for Biometrics or somethiong else. Safe journey
 
I am planning to stay out side USA for 5 to 6 months. Does this create any problem. I am here in USA for almost 4 years.
 
refugee, i think u have good chance to get ur gc denied for staying outside the US thta many months. secondly, you maybe required to stay in US while ur gc case is pending becos u have to do the fingerprinting and possibly gc interview.
