I know i asked this question before.

Do we need to take transit visa for Frankfurt or Paris with 551 stamp in passport.
Anyone recently travelled abroad with 551.

We are going on Air-india, via frankfurt and returning via paris.

Please help.....

I think you should call German/French consulate and get the information, because there are some conflicting cases. Two years back I travelled via Frankfurt. That time I had only GC stamp on passport and no GC plastic card, I had to apply for transit visa in Los Angeles German consulate. But there are people in this forum who mentioned that transit visa is not required (I assume they have their own experience and it's not just guessing). I don't know whether rules have been changed or two years back it was just stricter due to 9/11 incident. But consulate people are the best to answer it.
