Travel with pending AP ?

All,

I hava a valid EAD/AP which are expiring in June 2006. I am going to apply for renewel in March (90 days before). I am planning to go to India in April and come back in May.

Is it OK to travel outside the country while your AP is pending even though I have a valid AP till june ?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
