Travel with I-140/I-485 pending, no receipt. Can I renter on H1?

I am on 8th year H1 extension with H1 stamp on passport till Sep 2008. I got my LC 2 weeks back and my I-140 and I-485 just filed. I don't have receipt number of I-140 or I-485. I don't have advace parole. I don't have EAD.

1. Can I travel to Canada for a week for business trip and reenter USA on H1 without affecting I140 or I485?

2. Can I travel to India?

yes you can if...

Yes you can if you are under "a valid H , L, V, K3 or K4 status you may travel without obtaining advance parole", or at least that is what the filling instructions for I485 says.
