Travel with appr. but no stamp, stamp but no card- Any experiences? Please help.

Hello everyone!
      I have I-485 approved and passport stamped. I may not get a card before I leave for India. I will be entering based on the stamp but without card!
      My spouse and Kid were already in India when they got their approvals. They will be entering on the parole documents they have. Do they need to present the approval letters too, now that they are residents?

Anyone with such experience or experts who know the law, please post and help me out!
