I am plan to use my AP next week to my home country. I have few questions:

1) Does BCIS mark any thing on my AP when I am leaving?
2) When I am back with AP, does BCIS keep both originals of AP?
3) Any other advaces/suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

1) Does BCIS mark any thing on my AP when I am leaving?
Nope, nothing when leaving. You just have to submit your I-94 card to the airline.

2) When I am back with AP, does BCIS keep both originals of AP?
Nope, they just stamp on it and give it back to you. Also, you just need 1 of them.

3) Any other advaces/suggestions?
AP people stand in a different queue than H1Bs. You too need the white I-94 form filled out. Take your I-485 and EAD ... just in case.

Have a safe trip!

I additions to bajis' remark, the officer would ask you of your petitioner name and the number of times you have used AP.

I did not have any problem at the U.S. boarder. However, If possible ensure that your departure date is stamped before you leave the country.
My passport was not stamped when I left U.S (after 10 years in U.S). I had little problem when returning to U.S. in my country and Amsterdam. In both places, my work permit and driving license saved me from embracement. If possible have other photo ID just in case….

Minor Correction...

You must carry both the originals...The BCIS Officer will keep one and give the other copy to you afetr stamping it. You can use this stamped copy if you wish to travel again before you AP expires.

Also, keep your EAD card (if any) with you along with copies of your 485 notice....Do not show them to the officer unless asked.

***This is based on my travel experience on AP***

Guys, thank you so much!

I have not been back for 7 years, looking forward to it!

Thanks again.

>what is it called? how do we know which for ap and h1?
An agent normally directs the crowd to the different lines. You can ask the agent to point the AP queue. Normally, this is the shortest of all queues!

Sometimes it's in an office inside.
