Travel while applied for green card renewal

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding green card renewal & travel, any help
is appreciated.

My grandmother is currently in US on a green card, which is expiring
soon. She is scheduled to travel to India next week on Sept 27, 2007.
We applied for her green card renewal and got the finger printing
done. Can she travel internationally while she awaits for the green
card renewal?

Current Green card expiry: March 26, 2008
Filed for Green card renewal (I 90) on : Aug 26, 2007
Finger printing and photograph : done on Sept 14, 2007
The current green card was not taken away, nor any stamp was added to
the passport. The finger appointment receipt was stamped saying the
finger printing took place on that day.

1. Can she file for a 2 year extension (re-entry permit) now to stay
away from US while her green card renewal is being processed? (and
stay out of US for 2 years)

2. Can she travel internationally on her current green card and return
before her green card expires (before March 26, 2008) without any
stamp on her passport?

3. Is an InfoPass stamp necessary for her to travel?

stay out of US for 2 years) She can not STAY out of the US for more than 2 years! She can stay for longer than 1 year and return with a re-entry permit, but she will very likely break continuous residency... which will make it longer to become an US Citizen... also, she is supposed to LIVE in the US, not be going somewhere for TWO Years...

2. Can she travel internationally on her current green card and return
before her green card expires (before March 26, 2008) without any
stamp on her passport? Yes, she can. Before it expires, she will be able to return.

3. Is an InfoPass stamp necessary for her to travel? No.
