Hello All,
There has been lots of threads in this forum about traveling while 485 is pending issue. Some well experienced people say no issue on traveling before receiving receipt some advise not to travel.
My company paralegal confirms there is no issue in travel but my attorney told not to travel.
I am planning to request my attorney office who is member of AILA to ask the question to USCIS and post in next FAQ.
I feel, may be earlier the receipt used to arrive in week or so and that the reason for the law. But now with this much volume of application it may not be possible for USCIS to send receipts for all applicants in month or so.
If we bring that to USCIS notice then they might relax the law.
I request whoever possible to ask their attorney and have it communicated to USCIS so that they will address this issue in next faq.
This will help people who are traveling to home country for some family emergencies.
Thank you for co-operation. Or anybody else has better idea to have it addressed.. let us discuss.
