My wife is in a process of condition removal. She has an expired green card and an extension letter for 1 year.
We are flying to Cancun Mexico for a 1 week vacation.
Does anyone have similar experience - was extension letter recognized by Mexico authorities?

The airline confirmed they'll let us on a plane to Cancun.
Mexican consulate does not know for sure if airport officials will accept an extension letter.

You should be all set.She can also go to the local USCIS office and get a stamp in her passport.Make an info pass and take the extension letter you got from USCIS,If you show them youR expired GC they will take it away from you since is expired and they giving you a stamp.

We tried doing it with no success.
Chicago office did not want to produce a stamp (even as we suggested to forfeit expired GC and the extension letter)
Bureaucrats like to make things complex.

Update: successfully entered Mexico at Cancun airport with the expired green card and an extension letter.
They obviously know what it is.
