Currently their site seems to be down

But when it comes back up:

http://www.indiaconsulateny.org/

refer to the PIO card section.

They have link to the form: Fill it in duplicate.

Send 4 PP pictures.

Copy of the passport.

Copy of your and your spouse's passport.

Bank Check for $160 ($170 if prefer Express Mail)

Write a cover letter and get it notarized.

Send it by Priority mail.

I received the PIO Card in flat 10 days including time in mail.

I thought the fee was $155.00. Where in the site did they mention about the $5.00 extra? I have already taken a money order for $155.00. Can I return this and take another one for $160.00?

I see it - they mentioned that in NY site only. They did not mention it in Houston or DC site. What a bunch of a$$holes. They don't even lift the phone when they try to call up.

Thank you for your replies.

couple more....

1) How long PIO will be valid. ( My Kid passport is valid for just 5 years)
2) What all document need to be notarized ?

Thank you again......

Respect your elders - Frantic

Frantic,
Please do not cuss them. They are your bretheren. Even though you are americanised, therez a big "D" (for Desi) on your butt cheeks.

I will curse whoever it is - American or Indian. I am an equal opportunity offender. I am basically cursing the Govt. and the fat employees serving us be it Indian consulate or INS.

There is a reson for my cursing - everytime I called the consulate I can hear the phoen ring and someone picking it up and disconnecting it. How rude is that?

I agree with Frantic. Whoever doesn't do the job s/he's supposed to do and gets paid for it needs to be cussed at.

Especially government employees. These guys are here to serve you, not flash their diplomatic passports.
