I have an H1 visa issued at State Dept. for a previous employer X till Oct\'02.
Currently, I work for company Y and have a I-797/I-94 valid till May\'03, and I plan to go toIndia next month for 2-3 weeks.
My lawyer says I can\'t come back on my existing visa because of stricter immigration rules. Even if I come back on my existing visa, I will get a new I-94 valid only till Oct\'02 (when my existing visa expires)! I am surprised at this news. Is it true?
Did anybody in my situation travel to India, recently?
