Travel to india and H1 expiring in few months

Hi,

My H1 will be expiring in JAN'07. Can I travel to India and come back to US on NOV'06??

What I would like to know - are there any restrictions on travel outside US while visa is getting expired in few weeks ??

My employer would apply or extension after I am back in NOV'06.

Please advice.

This should be fine. When I travelled last time I came back around 2 & half months before visa expired and got h1 renewed after coming back.
You can come back before visa expired by rule and but you should have reasonable time to apply for the renewal.
