Hello
My company wants me Visit China on a Business trip for Couple of weeks . I do have valid AP and EAD .My H1-b is expired and working on EAD , If any one has experince in Travelling to China with AP . Please post the details

No details to talk about. As long your AP and EAD are valid, it's trouble free. Good luck!

I have been in China

in Sept.

My H-1B was also expired and in the process of applying for one-year extension(still didn't have it). EAD actually isn't needed. But passport and AP are a must.

If you're not a Chinese citizen, you'll need a visa. It can be obtained through mail in chinese consulate in US (New York, Washington DC)

Other than that, there is no trouble. Since my passport still says F-1(my status when entering US), I was sent to see officers and waited for about 15-minute in US customers. But this is just routine.

In short, nothing to worry.

can you tell something about 731-v form

Hi robertx71
I happened to read that you sent the above form for inquiry. I looked at the form and it mentions about form 1-551 which is the GC. can we use this inquiry form or you used another form for the inquiry which got you the second FP.
Thank you.

Dear vsrao:

You would need:

1). Valid passport (and valid visa to China if non-PRC passport)
2). Your lawyer would probably advise you to have a letter from your employer stating your employment and 3 pay-stubs
3). Valid AP paper is good enough if you enter JFK or O'Hare. You need both AP paper and EAD card if you enter SFO.

You will need to be guided to the INS office at the airport just for paper processing; so don't be panic since it is rountine as another member also mentioned. Some junior staff/counter agents might not understand AP papers, but their supervisors are well trained.

Again, if you have 1) to 3), you should be trouble free.

HOpe this helps. Good luck!!

I just sent in one inquiry form (I forgot the form # , could be 731-v form), no other form was used in my case except a brief cover letter.
