Travel to Canada

Hi Ciba and others,

Do you know where I can find on the web a statemente saying it\'s OK for an H1 holder to go to Canada and come back
without having to apply for a visa at the Amercian Consulate? I was told that is true but wanted to confirm.

I know this is a site for I-485 questions but I consider you guys the experts for immigration questions since you\'ve been
through so much like me.
You have helped me a lot. Thank you very much.

u can do that provided you have valid unexpired H1B visa on your passport.

You need to go to Canadian Consulate to get the VISA stamped.

If the trip is less than 30 days, you can get back to the
country with just a valid I-94 (no stamp is necessary).
This is called "contigency continents" (meaning Mexico
or Canada) or something like that. Sounds weird, I know
(grin).
