Travel outside US while EAD application pending

Hi,

I am the primary applicant and my 485 has been approved. My wife's 485 is still pending. I want to file for my wife's EAD and she has her own H-1 through her employer.

Can she travel outside the US while her EAD application is pending? or is her EAD /485 considered abandoned? She does not have AP and does not intend to apply for her AP. She has her H1b visa stamp valid till jan, 2006 which she will use to re-enter.

Have same question, please clarify

My spouse's application for renewal EAD is still pending at VSC (RD: 3/25/05). We are planning to travel to India in first week of June. Can the EAD still be processed while we are in India?

Also my EAD, that was applied much later (RD 04/16/05), was approved in less than 1 month. I fear my spouse's application has been missed. Can we have more than one EAD application pending at the same time for the same person? Also I forgot to include marriage certificate, EAD mailer & back side of I-94 while applying for spouse. We will have to figure out a way to handle any RFE on the EAD appln while in India. Spouse's current EAD expires the first week of july.

Your wife can travel when EAD is pending -- it will not abandon 485 or anything like that.

You might have some confusion at POE if your 485 gets approved and your wife doesn't have AP - but it can be handled.

Also since you will be in the US (I presume), you can handle any EAD RFEs if they come -- so u are good to go
