Travel out of US for <6 mo after FP

I finished my FP this week & need to travel to India for 3-4months. My close relative is a advanced stage of Cancer. I am aware after reading posts that the rule of travel less 180 days still applies until I become USC and will definately be back before that time. I will be on FMLA (un-paid leave of absence) with my employer, while still retaining my job, apartment etc in U.S. Upon return i will be resuming work.

I plan to start my travel in mid July and return mid November. Will this in anyway jeopardize my case during Interview/Oath. I will be able to provide appropriate medical reports as to my relative's sickness just in case the officer has a query during Interview.

Please advise. TIA.

What are you plans if you receive the interview notice while you were out of the country?

You can fill that information out during the interview process (I believe if you stay outside the country is less than 180 days in a given year...you should be okay). If you can keep that to less than 5 months even better.

I had actually anticipated this, hence on my N-400 I have provided a mailing address in addition to my residential address.

So all my notices are being collected by my friend who recieves it. I do not anticipate that my Interview at Newark should be before end of December, but in anycase my friend will e-mail me whenever the letter arrives.

Another question is should I file a FOIPA before I leave?
