Travel on AP

Folks, I am in a weird situation:

My wife and I (primary applicant) have applied (back in May 03) for our 3rd AP renewals... Our 2nd APs (the current ones) are expiring in SEP 03

My wife and I traveled to Canada in Feb 03, while coming back into US the officer stamped our APs saying that both of us are paroled until Feb 04!!!

My questions are

1- Does that mean I can travel on my 2nd AP and come back in US between Sep 03 and Feb 04 if needed?

2- Do I need AP renewals for any travel after Sep 03? or do I need them for travel after Feb 04?

Thanks!

1. No, u cant use the 2 nd AP to travel in dates between sep 03 and feb 04.
2. U need NEW AP to travel after sep 03.

The paroled until date on AP is usually 1 yr from the date of entry to US using the AP.
But, u can use the AP only till the EXPIRY DATE mentioned in the AP.
If u dont have a valid AP after the expiry date ( though within the paroled until date ) - U wont be allowed to enter US.

I traveled twice to Canada in May, but at the second time entry he extended my paroled date from March 04 to May 04 but he told me that doesn't mean I can travel and expected to come back after March 04 since my AP is valid till March 04.

Yes you definitely need a new AP if planning to come back after September 03.

God help us all and give us freedom Amen

Thank you all for the helpful information!

I wonder what would they mean by paroling us for one year even though I-485 can go no and on may be for years.

Does anyone know why they parole for one year, even though one can maintain good status by just being on I-485? And what suppose to happen after that one year parole period?

Thanks!
