It does not hurt to carry the following:
1. All Receipt notices in Original that you have ever received in your life.
2. A letter from your company about your employment status and the need for travel.
3. Your last 2 (I carried 4) paystubs .. basically 2 months worth of pay stubs (I get paid bi-monthly so I carried 4), if applicable.
4. Your Income Tax Returns for the last couple of years, if applicable.
5. Your W-2s for the last 2 years, if applicable.
6. your employment contract from the current company, if applicable.
You never know if you will end up in a Level 2 checking and these documents could be required at any time to prove that you are a genuine traveller and not some schmuck terrorist.
Both me and wife recently travelled on H1B, carried all the above documents including our approved AP (we did not use our APs though). Did immigration at Memphis .. was no problem at all and took less then 5 minutes with the officer, but you should still carry all these documents.
