Travel on AP while security Check is pending

Guys,
I am starting this thread for people who have been going through the security check/name check nightmare for last several years and not able to travel outside US as either their H1B or AP is pending. Wondering am I the only one whose even AP has not been issued because of this $^$%$% name check ?? How easy/difficult it is to travel on AP if you haven't got your name check clear from FBI ? do you have issues on POE ??

Please comment and share your experience....

I am in the same boat
Still waiting for my I 131, I was told by INS that I have to wait for my name and background to be cleared.
