Hi Gambler

I want to fly from Newark, NJ to Bombay, India

RD: Dec 29 01
FP : April 26 02

No RFE Nor FP2

3Rd EAD and 3rd AP : Nov 6 03

No news for 3rd EAD or 3rd AP

I returned from Bombay last week to San Francisco by Singapore airlines. No problems any where. Keep company ID card or employment letter as it is very useful at the time of return . No one asked for AP copy even in Bombay also. They just had a look at it. But keep 4/5 zerox copies in case any one asks.

I will be travelling to Bombay from Newark on 25th Jan and Air India said that I dont require the Transit visa.

You dont need a transit visa untill you have a valid H1 stamped in your passport. For people who are travelling on Advance Parole most of the airlines reuire Air transit visa.

If you have ample time the best thing to do is fly to india out of west coast where the airlines are more flexible when it comes to transit visas.

Good luck !!!

I travelled thru AUSTRIAN AIRLINES in December last week by using AP, no issues at all.

I think this is your best bet. Hope this helps you.

Air India is the best

I travelled to last month by Air India, no problem at all....
You can reach Bomaby faster... (16 hours including short stop at Paris). YOU DON'T NEED A TRANSIT VISA.......

Transit Visa

Guys,

If you are flying without having a valid H1,H4,L1 or L4 visa on your passports and flying through England, then you need transit visa for England. So, ofcourse Advance Parole needs a transit visa. Other countries in Europe don't need transit visa. It's not the airlines, it's the country which worries about the transit visa. If you are going by Air India and if goes via London, then you need a transit visa. Verify with the airlines before making a decision.

Verify whatever I say

Air India is the best...if you go thru London still you don't need any kind of visas (Transit)...because Air India doesn't let you get down at terminal...you have to be seated in plane......

how aout swiss arilines

or lufthansa which takes thru amsteram.
Swiss airlines take you thru Zuirch.

Do we require transit visa for this two as well.

Thanks

I travelled last month thru Germany(Frankfurt). The German embassy insisted on getting a transit if we do not have a valid visa stamped in the passport. I got the transit. People who checked my passport did see the page, but I am not sure if they would have asked any questions, incase it wasn't there.

Anyway I had it and the peace of mind too.

mdu123,
What was the turn around time for the German transit visa? I planning to go to India on April 20'th. My AP expires on Mar 31, 2004. SO i have applied for new one in Nov 2003. Assuming i get by March end, I will only have 20 days before I leave to India to get the transit visa.

One more thing, I will be in India for three weeks. Does the transit visa cover the entire period or do i have get a regular visitor visa?

Thanks in advance
-Srinikris.

Air India via London need a transit visa. Air India will not allow you to board the plane from Mumbai if you don't have one. I saw one guy has to change his plane and come to our's (AI 145 via Paris) because Air India bumped him out because of transit visa.

Air India Newark-Paris-Mumbai is the best route .

Hi

I went on an emergency trip to India. So I visited the German Consulate in Boston and applied in person. They open at 9:00 AM. I submitted my application as the first person and got it ready by 12:00PM. Easy job and they charge just $12 for transit visa, eventhough the website says its $15. THE VISA IS VALID FOR 3 MONTHS.

Hope this helps.
