Travel on 485 question - help please

My Wife is on H-4 and has travelled to India. We filed 485 and rcvd parole. My H-1 is still valid with my company (not on EAD). The questions are
1. Does she have to come back on Parole or can she come on H-4?
2. Is there any time restriction for how long she can be out of the country?

If you have valid H1 and H4 visas and also the I485 receipt thats all you need. I\'m not sure about how long you can stay, IMO there is no limit on that.

There is no time limit. Although, you have to enter the country before the parole expires. I had a valid H1 and a parole. However, the officer when he looked at the I-485 receipt asked for the parole and then stamped the parole. My wife will be coming this month and now her H4 has expired. Hence, she will be using the advance parole.

   I am in a similar situation. My H1B is expiring in Mid August.
I am going home now and plan to come back in the first week of
August. I also have my AP. But since technically my H1 is still valid
when I enter the country I want to enter on H1. ( People tell me that is better for whatever reasons ) The question is if there happens to be a bad officer who refuses to issue I94 just for a week and so I
produce my AP and what happens next ? Is the officer going to make
fuss about why I did not produce the AP in the first place ?

What do you exactly mean by "looking at the I485 receipt" ? Were you
carrying any reciept from the lawyer ? What did you produce in front of the officer first ? Your passport with H1B or the I485 receipt ?
