Does anyone know if one can travel outside the US during the naturalization application process, both after filing N-400 and after interview till oath...

I plan to send in my application next week, but wanted to make sure I could travel to India immediately after...

Thanks much in advance

Yes you can., I did....just make sure a) someone picks up your mail so you can appear for FP. b) keep records of your travle and show it the officer at the timn of the interview

Also, in addition to what zzerous said, remember also that until you take the oath, you're still an LPR, and all the standard rules of travelling for an LPR apply to you.

Travel after Interview

I just did a trip after my interview and before my oath. The process is just the same as before. When I asked about this upcoming trip with my interview officer, he advised me to just inform the official about the dates if asked when I appear for my oath ceremony. Thanks all.

I got naturalized on 08/25. the CIS agent only asked about the dates and took them down, very simple.

One of the citizenship application condition is "..(2) has resided continuously within the United States from the date of the application up to the time of admission to citizenship"

So does it mean I can not travel after I apply for citizenship until I get the approval?

I am scheduled to travel outside US for 3 weeks four days after I apply for the citizenship but not sure if I can do that. Any suggestions?

Please only ask the same question once. Same answer:
You can travel, you just can't "reside" somewhere outside the country. I left the country twice during my N-400 processing.
