Travel Document Confusion

How comes some people on asylum wait few weeks or months and some for years for the same type of document?
I plan to travel with my husband to Canada. Have no idea does he need to apply for any visa with this document. Apparently it's recognised document between Canada and States. But still...any experiances?

Still for how long and WHY we have to wait for the RTD document
so long?

These nummbers of 999 days are scary.

We don't have answer about waiting time from INS jet.

We live in California.

My husband needs RTD to travel to Canada with me. OK?

So, he applyed for this type of document with INS.

Some people on asylum who also wait for RTD are conncearned
about number 999. These are number of days we have to wait to get travel document. Before we start our journey.

Ok do not worry so much about the 999 days. I want you to try something. Check the case status online http://www.immigration.com/frame/inscasestatonlinefr.html and enter his LIN to see the progress . They adjusted it now to 290 days. I also know that some members of this forum got their RTD in less than 2 months. Good luck

don't have any lin # jet. INS just cashed our cheque few days ago. We expect to get confirmation letter soon.
