Hi, I will go visit my family in the Philippines (Nov. 29, 2011 to Jan 2, 2012). My conditional Green Card will expire on Jan 14, 2012. Do i need a travel document or stamp for my passport? Should i apply for removing conditional residence status when i come back? Im confused. I know i did not choose a good date to see my family but i already have a ticket.

thank you very much

You're supposed to apply to remove conditions in the 90-day window before the card expires. So you can apply to remove conditions as early as October 14, and 2-3 weeks after you apply you'll get an extension letter so you'll be able to use it to return after Jan 14 if your trip has to be extended beyond the card's expiration date.

Jackolantern,
I am planning to file my I-751 on Oct. 15 but i worry that they will schedule my biometrics, interview and RFE when i am away (nov. 29 to jan. 2). I am looking for Vermont USCIS Center I-751 timeline in other forums and sometimes they schedule the biometrics 1 month upon their receipt of the packet. My other plan is I will get my packet ready and let my husband file/send it when i was away. Thank you very much
