I am currently on F-1...have recently accepted a prematch offer from a hospital ...my licensure is under process...H-1 paperwork has also started...but the lawyer says it is better to go home before start of residency....in her opinion , changing my status here and then going home sometime inbetween residency might be risky...has anyone heard of any case where a resident would have gone home after changing F-1 to H-1 here in states and denied stamping of H-1 despite all the paper work done???
Please share your opinion!!

i haven't heard of any probs. h1 is a dual intent visa, so not a problem. be prepared to answer Q like "why you changed to H1" etc etc
infact, you may be better off going during residency. Let's say your visa gets rejected while at home ... then your PD will be calling the embassy to get you back in the US.
.

Thanks...any more inputs?

Thank you for the reply...actually my lawyer advised me to go home before joining or not to go for three more years at all...I welcome any more of the inputs from the forum!
