travel based on H-1B?

Hi,

I am holding a H-1B visa which expires in Set. 2001, and I was wondering
if I still need to get a visa stamp on my passport if I travel out of US in order to come back? Or if I could just use the approval notice (I-797) of
my H-1B visa.

If your visa stamp on the passport has expired you will have to get it stamped in order to return to the US. You can either send it to the central INS office in Washington DC(ask your lawyer) or get it stamped in the country that you are visiting.
