From what I understand:
If I inform the school international office about being out of status due to unauthorized employment, my SEVIS record will be terminated. The only way I can get re-instated in that case is to get a new (initial) I-20 (like I am a new student), travel out of the country, and come back in.
The big worry is:
What are the chances that the immigration officer at the POE will deny entry because of the past violation? Do they get to see the terminated SEVIS record, and therefore the past violation?
Any advice/anyone has had any experience in this regard?
Thanks.
