Travel and applying for Citizenship

My parents become eligible to file appication (N400) for Citizenship on 01/15/07.

However, they plan to go to India on 12/11/06 and return on 02/11/07. Before they leave, we plan to prepare the application and other documents ready so that I can file the application on 01/15/07 (eligibility date). That time, they will be in India.

1) Could this cause any problem?

If not, there is another issue about showing when they left US and returned.

2) If they sign the application on, say 12/11/06, do I still need to provide the information regarding their trip between 12/11/06 - 2/11/07 ?

3) OR I can just show the history till the date they signed the application (i.e. 12/11/06) eventhough their eligibility date is 1/15/07? Which means missing information for last 1-2 months.

Yes, it could be a problem. There are many cases wherein the applicant got FP scheduled within the first month after application. The safest option would be to apply after they return.

If they become eligible on 1/15/07 then they cannot sign the application on 12/11/06. They will have to sign on or after 1/15/07.
