Travel after name change?

We may have a unique situation.. We had planned our trip to india and booked tickets with my wife's then current name..

During the citizenship process, her name change was granted and got the citizenship and US passport under the new name..The travel agent says that once the ticket is issued, the name cannot be changed..

We have proof of the name change (court orderd certificate) and old and new passports.. IS this going to be an issue during our travel.?

My apologies in advance for posting this here, but would like to see if anybody has had any similar experiences

Do not worry.
contact the airline directly and they will tell you that if your name has changed after you purchased the tickets then bring a marriage certificate or court order and you won't have any problems when traveling.
