Travel after interview, before oath

The website says that the interview has been scheduled on 8/12 but I don't know yet when the interview is taking place.
I need to leave the country for a few days in late September - for a conference. I really want to go - my paper was accepted. Can I travel in between the interview and the oath? When do they take the green card away? Can I still travel on the GC if I passed the interview? Chicago doesn't do same-day oath, but my company will pay for same-day password.

Yes, you can travel between interview and oath, this is what I did just a few months ago. I told the officer who interviewed me that I was planning on doing so and he said it's not a problem. They will ask you on the day you take the oath whether you have traveled internationally after the interview and you just need to let them know for how long you were gone and where you went. They will take your greencard on the day you take the oath.
