Travel after CP interview

Hi,

My CP interview is scheduled in June and I have to travel with my wife and daughter to Chennai from USA to attend the interview. I was wondering if I can come back to the US as soon as the interview is complete and let my wife and daughter to stay back for a little while and come back to US after 1 month or so.

Is there any restriction at POE or elsewhere, that all the 3 of us have to travel back to USA together? Can they travel later without any problem at POE?

Thanks,
CNV

Hi CNV,

Congrats on getting the interview scheduled. I gather that each applicant gets their individual temp-visa package and has to enter US within 6 months of the interview.

Also, I think that the primary applicant has to enter first before the derivative applicants in case they are travelling seperately.

Cheers,

Rjain2.

Hi CNV,
Can you please let us know when your P3 was forwarded to Chennai consulate and your interview date? This will help us in determining the time frame for Chennai CP interviews.
Thanks in advance.

My P3 was forwarded by NVC on 4/1. My interview date is 6/22. You can go to cptracker and find my details under the name "vc".

Making sure about the individual package is an absolute key.

Hi alren, Could you elaborate a little bit? Do you mean, we should make sure we carry the correct package for each individual?

Thanks alren and Rjain2 for your responses!!

cnv,

Rjain mentioned 3 things

  • you have to enter first
  • spouse has 6 mos. to enter Us
  • There should be seperate packets from consulate for both of you.
If the last one is not there then you would not be able to do anything. (I don't know if you can approach the consulate after the fact)
