translation of foreign language documents

Hi,

I'm preparing my EB2-NIW case and I've some exhibits (like participation in thesis committees and one national award) that they are in Portuguese and Spanish respectively. Should I translate them using certified translators? or just someone with proficiency in those language can sign the 'certification by translator'? (there's an example at USCIS web page).

Any person except the applicant can certify the translations. Any friend or colleague will do.
