Transit visa on H-1B or H-4 visa...

Hi All.

My friend and his spouse are travelling from USA to India on H-1B and H-4 visa. He was wondering if he would require a transit visa. His I-485 is under process but is working on H-1B visa.

Searching forum on Transit VISA does not provide much info

My family is going to use AP while travelling on Air France to India.

I assume, they need transit VISA - just wanted to confirm it here.

I plan to visit French Consulate in Boston on Thursday - any experiences?


High5 - please specify the airline - but any airline with H1 AND H4 stamped in the passport and still valid - they won't need transit VISA.

believe_in_self, thanks for the info. I know they have valid H1-B and H-4 visas. I'm not sure of the airlines.

According to your reply it appears that valid H-1B and H-4 visa does not require Transit visa.

I was wondering if your family is using AP because they are working on EAD or do they need advance parole even if they are on H-1B or H-4 visa.

we let it expire as EAD was used

Yes, valid US VISA stamped in passport and Indian Citizen means no need of transit VISA.
