Transit thru the UK

Hey guys,
I'm traveling to Africa through the UK with a I-485 approval stamped on my passport. Do I need a transit visa? Have you guys had any experience with that before? I called the British consulate and I can't tell you how much agitated the rep was when I asked her questions. No customer service at all...

Yes. You will need a transit visa if you belong to a select group of countries. IF you have your PHYSICAL CARD in your hand then you will NOT need it. The approval stamp has no meaning for the british folks. The website britainusa.com explains this in great detail.
