Transferring to CSC after three years.

After waiting for almost three years, my case was transferred to California Service Center today. I was very upset by this.

I lived in CA when I submitted my I-485. But my NIW based I-140 was approved from TSC. Both my stupid lawyer and an instruction sheet from INS told me submit my I-485 to where my I-140 was approved. I did that although the TSC was much slower than CSC at that time. Now comes to this. Please share your experience to help us. RD 6/22/01, ND 7/16/01, FP 1/21/03.

Hi, Hopeful0820,
If I were you, I would ask my representative or a Senator to request the CSC to adjudicate my case before fingerpint expired.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, kashmir. I actually contacted both both congressman and senator's offices a couple of weeks ago, when TSC official processing time passed my receipt date. I have a feeling congressman's inquiry actually triggered the transfer.

After exactly 37 months of waiting (yes, more than 3 years!), I finally saw our case status updated online on July 23 saying our casses have been approved (by CSC) and the approval notice was sent on July 22. Am I supposed to get the approval notice or will my lawyer get it? If my lawyer gets it, will I get a copy as well?

Thanks.

Congratulations. Your lawyer will get the 'official' approval, you will get a courtesy copy. Either are OK for stamping, though some folks here appear to believe using the 'official' copy is somehow 'better'. I waited for the official copy from my lawyer to do the stamping.

Thanks a lot for the information. After stamping, are we able to travel overseas? How long can we expect to receive the plastic cards?

My pleasure.

Yes, you can.

Visit Plastic Card Tracker thread.
It took about three weeks for my case early in June, but it looks like taking longer recently.

Good luck, and enjoy your freedom,
