Transferring Earlier Priority Dates

I have copy of my final determination of my Labor Certification from my previous company. During I-140, I left them. After I left them, I-140 was also approved and later canceled by former employer. Meanwhile I had joined new company and they have filed new GC and I am on 8th year H1B extension based on this. Can I use Priority date of my previous employer in I-485 stage for now current employer? The following URL says I can retain the priority date, if I have copy of approved I-140 and I-140 is NOT revoked.
But I have only copy of approved LC and my I-140 was not revoked, but canceled by former employer. Will I be able to use the earlier priority date?

I think you need...140 approval

Sorry I think you do need approved 140. that is what my attorney told me. I am trying to get hold of that old 140 from previous comp...no reply yet...Just like your case I hope they did not close my 140...what you can do is apply with approved 140...later it was canceled...it does not matter...but you did clear it right that is enough. Maybe you will be lucky.

What form?

Is there any specific term/form that I should get from my previous employer?
Is it copy of my final determination of my I-140?
 
sorry for the delay in answering

All you need is copy of an approved 140 ...to apply it does not matter whether they have closed it or not.

My employer is not giving me the
(1) copy of I140 approval notice and also
(2) I140 VAC number.
Will I be able to get it through FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) ?
