Hi All,
Yesterday we ( myself and wife) went to San Antonio office. The transfer letter mentioned that I should bring employment letter, recent pay stubs, w-2s and Tax returns. I was with same company for four years, so that was not a problem. In between wife started working and her company processed her H1, but she said thats not a problem, as she was listed as a dependent on my 485 application.
She asked for our daughter's birth certificate for copy, but we told her that its been sent to passport processing, then she said ok. Just asked us to fill out her name and birthdate.
After security check, we were asked to wait in the waiting hall - no need to take the number as we had the appointment letter. Our interview was schedules at 8 and 8.30 resp. However officer called us together @ 8.20 , she took us to 3rd floor office. After verifying everything, she told us that she is approving our case. Also mentioned that your case took long time to approve ( 485- was filed in Feb 2002 ). Took all EADs, AP and stamped the passports. She also had our photos from AP renewal appliation ( which I sent about 3 months back ), so didn't ask for photos. Used same photos. Couple of documents were missing copies, she went personally made copies, made one copy for us and gave it to us. We were really impressed.
Told use the card should arrive in 6 months, however it might come in 1 month as well.
Congratulated both of us. Talked very nicely. Talked about other things as well. Overall very nice and pleasent experience. We were out of her office by 9.10 am, she walked us to the lobby.
Good luck to everyone. This forum provided a great support and information. Thanks to you all.
Hang in there your turn is coming.
