Transferred Case, EAD and AP

My case has been transferred to local Newark office. What happens to my already applied EAD?

How should I apply for a new AP now? Do I have to apply it to VSC or to local office?

Thanks

desiladka,

When an application is transferred all ancillary application (EAD and AP) are also transferred. Your EAD application will also soon indicate the transfer. The approval of EAD will now come from the local office....my understanding is local office send all these ancillary application to Missouri??...not sure but from my experience from the date it is transferred takes about 3 months for EAD/AP to get approved.

If you cross the 90 day period walk in (or take infopass appt.) at the local office and get yourself an i-EAD that will give you a chance to find out about your main I-485 application.

All future renewals will have to go through the local office.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot SGI.

Do we fill the same forms for EAD/AP as if it was VSC? What would be the exact address to send to? In the cover letter whom should we address the letter to?

Thanks

After looking into the forum, I am getting conflicting messages on where should I appy my EAD/AP while my case has been transferred to Newark Office.

Some say I have to file in Newark Office while others say I have to file in Chicago office.

Nothing makes sense to me.

Please help

Hi desiladka,

REad the following thread in which you and myself had same question.
http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=176645

That does not help. My case has been transferred to local office. I have read it several places where they say that if 485 is transferred to local office, all cases should be applied there. But someboey also mentioned to apply it at Chicago.

Don't know what to do. Where to send.

Chicago is for Family-Based applicants. I thinkl you are EB (employment based). To Adjudicate the EAD, the officer has to refer to the A# file. The EAD will be transferred to wherever the A# file is if you send it to VSC, or Chicago. This is what I was told when I took the InfoPass appointment for my AP and my dependent's EAD. We were given our AP and EAD from the local office even though we sent it to VSC.
