I see few postings indicating their case transfer to local office.

What I did not understand - Is it good or bad ?

Anyone determined any common factors in the cases transferred to local office.

Gurus .....

Look at this thread for some excellent insight on the "Local Transfer":

In the past TSC transfer to the local office use to be a very bad scenario, as from the few reported cases the file gets buried in the local office and scheduling an interview might take years.

It depends very much on the local office. VSC people regard most transfers to local offices as a good sign that their case will be adjudicated quickly, as local offices in the VSC area (Boston for example) tend to be more efficient.

There are other offices like Chicago, Houston, Miami (cities with a lot of family-based immigration), which have been extremely slow and transfer to any one of these is a really bad luck.

The $1M question is: What is going to be the RD when the file gets transferred?

If they use the original RD, no big deal as in most TSC cases this will put the file on top of the pile.
