Experts/RAJIV S KHANNA,

I have few questions

1. Does any one know why USCIS transfer the 485 Files to local office for the AOS Interviews? Why don't they make decison in the main(4 offices) offices?
I got a notice saying that my 485 case transfered on 07/11/05 to Newark, NJ office for AOS interview.
Friend of mine got his GC on his hand already. (who applied after me)

2. why getting interview letter from local office taking so much time?

3. I live in Mercer County, NJ, will they trasfer my files to Cherry Hill, NJ Office? (Notice says that trasfered to Newark, NJ)

4. I see here somebody case trasfered back and forth between Newark, NJ and Vermont center,(couple of times) Why they do like this?

Thanks

Most of your questions were answered number of times in this forum.

1. Its on random basis, you have no control on local office transfers. It might be due to change of address, QA, verification, any prior arrest, medicals, fingerprinting not clear etc.

2. It depends on the workload of the local service center. In Newark on an average atleast 6-8 months waiting time as per current trend.

3. If Mercer county you can forget about your interview for atleast one yr, but if its Newark, then you should be good. Follow time frames in answer 2.

4. I have heard people who have done status enquiry's case being transferred to Vermont. I dont know if its 100% true, but it might be a coincidence.

Good Luck!

Want GC Soon,

Thanks for your reply. I got a notice that says my case transfered to Newark,NJ. I live in Mercer County. Will Newark office transfer my case to Cherry Hill or stays in Newark, NJ?

How do I know that where my files are transfered? Is there any way to findout? also how to findout the files are reached at local office?(Newark/Cherry hill)

Thanks in advance for the reply.

I have seen most of the guys who reside in Mercer County being transferred to Cherry Hill office. But in the recent past, I have seen one more guy who lives the same place as you are and still his case was in Newark.

You need to take an infopass appointment in Newark and go there and see if your file is received in Newark.

I dont think that once your case is in Newark they would transfer it back to Cherry Hill. You never know, keep your fingers crossed
