First of all what makes you think that you would be approved in amonth or so???!!!. Urs is an Oct01 RD and at current rate Oct cases would be worked on in November only. It can't be sooner than that. Secondly, if you move out then your file may be not necessrily will be transferred to local office. Yes, you might have to fly to local office from Calif, you can also ask for transferring the case to new local office, if you are more interested in saving few bucks than ur GC. But that will add more delays to your case.
So my advise is just do what you have to and wait and watch. Fly anywhre Vermont asks you, in case of a file transfer.

shantanu,

thanks for your reply. You should better learn how to reply in a polite way. It is not the question of how much buck we are spending. How to deal with the situation. thats the question. Anyway thanks for the reply.

Give change of address and pray

What I mean by that is when you move to California you make sure that you make a change of address. And then hope and pray that if in case your file does get transferred to local office, it goes to CA. There is no guarantee on this because in one of my friends case it did go back to the old locations local office. So he had to talk to INS and request a new file to be sent over to his new location. But at any rate you should make a change of address.

About Shantanu, ignore him. He was born during a solar eclipse. So he has missed out on the brighter side of life.
