Is it better to wait and see if the case gets transferred
I am from NY , moving to another state which has less wait time

Is it better to wait and see if the case gets transferred to my local office in NY if it does I am in big trouble (NY takes ~ 8-10 months to proces)

One the case is transferred can I do an AR 11 and try to get that case transeferred to another state ..or

should I just file Ar -11 now , so if there is a transfer it goes to my new state with less wait time ..since the chances of getting transferred is high any way now -a- days...

I am afraid that if I do an AR11..my casse will definately get transferred to local office...and my RD is feb ..so I do not know

Thanks

Getting an local office to do the file transfer is like asking for miracle. If your case is still with VSC, apply for the address change immediately...

goodluck

Good advice...

My own case was transferred by mistake to NYC. Apparently, this info coming from both immigration officer and lawyer, officers in Vermont make errors when it comes to geography. Wait time in NYC is huge.

I asked the local office (Buffalo, NY) to get the file for me back to my local district. Also, I personally went to NYC, waited three hours in line and requested the transfer. Between transfer date from VSC to NYC and receipt date from Buffalo took 2 months. The transfer seemingly was done within one month, but they took an additional month to issue me a receipt. They did not issue me an interview date as of yet!

Yes, inform them of the new address (fax, mail, telephone). You do not want to be in NYC,where getting an AP or EAD is a problem. Go one early morning near Federal Plaza in NYC to see people lined up-that will scare you.

could one use address close to newark?

say if someone in NY, and has relative in NJ close to newark, could he use that address? in case of transfer, that's much better in newark than in NY. how if the person is other state , say CT, could he use NJ address. the wait for interview and some local office is just terrible.
