My I-485 case is pending for about 18 months. My employer may need me to go work in the UK now for a year or so. What are the options? How do I ensure the I-485 process keeps running here and is not negatively impacted?
GC is for future employment. Your employer has to declare (in case there is any RFE) that the position requirement in USA is still valid (the position on which your LC and I-140 are based) and you will be take the position (or your employer will let you take the position) after your GC approval. Secondly, you need to have AP before you go UK for assignment and enter back to USA before it expires.
