Hello,
I am a recognized political refugee based in France, who is a signatory of the Geneva convention, and follows the same rules and laws as any other EU country. I know for a fact that the French authority in charge of asylum, does take care of those interested in a transfer to a different country where the applicant has ties, without the applicant's being expected to go through all the process again. (ties are described as family ties, studies, language etc.)
Now I wanted to know if I could take charge of this process myself? Is it time-consuming and I will be put in a line?
I should mention that my partner of 4 years is American, and travels back and forth every month to Paris. However I do not want to get married (I am too young for that) - in which case I would not have needed to immigrate to the US as a refugee. And - in case language tie counts, I have been educated in English-speaking schools since childhood, and indeed, I have all the necessary to prove it, when needed.
Thanks for the help,
Regards,
Parsifal
