Transfer Interview from India Consulate to US?

We had initial applied for my MIL's GC when she was in India, she is currently here with us and we received a letter from INS stating her interview has been scheduled next month at the Indian Consulate.
Can we transfer the process over so that she can do her interview in the US nstead having to fly back to India??

It cannot be "transferred" as such. But she can file I-485 to pursue adjustment of status here. That would mean waiting some 3-6 months for the AOS process to be completed. Plus a possible delay for them to transfer files back to the US.

Whereas if she went to India for the consular interview next month, she'd get the immigrant visa in her passport in a few days after the interview, and once she arrives in the US with the immigrant visa she will be a permanent resident.
