Transfer from H1B to H4

Hi, Does any one know if I can stay here to do the transfer from H1B to H4? I got layoff at Feb 14 and now is Apirl 9. I heard the H4 applying is special case and want to confirm it.

TO do H1-H4 Change of status..

you should have filed for H4 before you got affected by the layoff on Feb 14.
Act fast and file the H4 COS right away...you have been out of status for nearly 2 months now.
 
Thanks tt tt. So is it posible still to get approve if I file it now? Cause I already out of status 2 monthes, is it any difference if I file it now or file it 1 monthes late?

Please file it as soon as possible.

The INS may give you more consideration and approve your H4 status. They may ask you about when your job was terminated by asking for latest paystubs..so if you have an severence pay-stubs coming keep them safe.
The later you file the lesser the chance that you can get approved.
